What We Are Doing

At Pacific Roots, we try to better serve our community by reaching out through various local and online platforms in our call to action.

We host the only frequent open mic night events for the youth in American Samoa. We call it PROM - Pacific Roots Open Mic night. 

With over 13 to date, the impact has truly been felt amongst artists performing and young adults attending. 

Through past youtube videos from collaborations with Whitcombe Media to our social media presence on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter, and Tumblr, we encouraging others to learn Pacific Islander history, and invite/empower local islanders to unite, educate, and perpetuate the arts and our cultural significance.

Our mission is simplified through four key points: 1) to help EXPRESS, 2) ENCOURAGE, 3) EDUCATE, and 4) ELEVATE the power of words/actions through performance art by the Pacific Islander community.

Express your thoughts. Encourage peers to do the same. Educate yourself. Elevate together as a whole and make a difference, for the cultural betterment of our people.
